The Sarasota Bay Estuary Program (SBEP) will conduct an online program about estuary soundscapes at noon Tues. June 23.
SBEP interviewers will talk with the team of scientists behind the Sarasota Passive Acoustic Listening Stations (PALS) Network—a collaboration of biologists, engineers, educators and citizens who explore the acoustic environment of Sarasota Bay. In this group is Athena Rycyk, Ph.D., assistant professor of biology and marine science at New College.
Rycyk will be speaking live and answering questions during the program. Listeners can learn how Rycyk and other researchers use the network to study the behavior of dolphins, manatees, fish and more. Bring questions!
