Confronting Catastrophe: International Disaster Assistance and Twentieth Century U.S. Foreign Relations

Dr. Julia Irwin, associate professor and associate chair of History at USF Tampa, will present this timely, yet long-term topic stemming from the collaboration between New College history professor Brendan Goff’s course on Food, Fuel, Fiber, and Finance: A History of Global Capitalism and political science professor Frank Alcock’s course on Sustainable Development. She will also be speaking at Feminist Friday the next day, April 19, on Clara Barton, the American Red Cross, and the history of U.S. humanitarianism during the early decades of the 20th century.
