Development Economist Karla Borja

Karla Borja, a development economist who researches economic development issues in the region of Latin America, will present a guest lecture. Her most recent empirical research is related to the concepts of migration, remittances and the factors driving international capital flows to Latin America. Her research contributes to the understanding of economic and social channels linking developed and developing nations. She has published in the American Economic Review, and she teaches students how to use data to solve real world problems.
Karla Borja is an Associate Professor of Economics and Department Chair at UTampa. Professor Borja received her PhD in Economics from Claremont Graduate University, her M.A. from the Technological Institute of Mexico, and her B.A from Central America University.
