Guest Lecturer: Elizabeth Scott Osborne

Are you interested in learning more about international development, nonprofits, and how to find appropriate solutions to real-world problems? If you are, then please join the Development Economics class, as the guest speaker will be none other than Elizabeth Scott Osborne.
Scott is a lawyer, teacher, and international development professional. She has worked with nonprofits for over three decades, living in seven countries in Africa, Asia and Europe, and traveling to 35 more. She is especially interested in issues around gender equity and education.
Scott created and produced a play, “SPOILED,” about violence and masculinity in India and the U.S.; designs curricula for an educational venture; and is currently working on a book about the lives of a group of girls and nuns in a shelter home in India. She serves on the boards of the U.S. National Committee for UN Women and the Museum of Political Corruption. She is President of the Gulf Coast Chapter of UN Women.
Scott holds a B.A. Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania, an MPA in International Development from Princeton, and a J.D. from the New York University School of Law, and has teaching certifications in Montessori and English as an Additional Language. Scott is a native New Yorker and an adopted Floridian. She was a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa.
