The Power of Your Entrepreneurial Spirit: Transform Your Life Like Martha Matilda Harper

Friday, October 16, 2020,12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

Bound out at the age of seven, Martha Matilda Harper transformed her life and the lives of other poor women around the world after 25 years of servitude. Capitalizing on her own determination and innovative spirit, in 1891, she launched modern retail franchising with over 500 shops worldwide. The first 100 shops went only to poor women to propel them into economically empowered owners. With the support of Susan B. Anthony and other suffragists, she dazzled royalty, U. S. Presidents and other influential customers with the first reclining shampoo chair, cutout sink, and commitment to organic products. However, her brilliant success was lost in history, a common occurrence for women. Harper’s story and her ten steps to life success are as relevant today as when she first broke through her servitude.
Join us to hear Harper’s story with Jane Plitt, entrepreneur, speaker, and author of Martha Matilda Harper and the American Dream: How One Woman Changed the Face of Modern Business. Through Harper’s story, be inspired for your own professional success!
