“Who Broke Feminism?” with Dr. Emma Rees

Please join the Gender Studies Program for a lecture and Q&A session with Dr. Emma Rees from the University of Chester. In this lecture, Dr. Rees will look at some of the modern conflicts surrounding feminism and the feminist movement. She is joining us from the UK before the release of her newest book called “That is a Feminist Issue.” The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Emma Rees is the Director of the University of Chester’s Institute of Gender Studies and Programme Leader of the interdisciplinary Masters of Research in Gender Studies. Her interdisciplinary teachings and publications focus on gender and representation from the early modern period to today. Dr. Rees is on the editorial boards and a reviewer for numerous journals, as well as a regular contributor to the Times Higher Magazine. In January 2016 was appointed to consult for the Oxford English Dictionary to find new definitions for a small group of words related to the female body for the next edition of the dictionary.
