The New College Foundation challenged friends and alumni of the college to raise $100,000 during Giving Tuesday, and they delivered. Two generous donors, who wish to remain anonymous, matched individual gifts 1:1 up to $5,000, for a total of $100,000 in matched donations. The money will support fund scholarships for New College students, among other projects.
“Thank you to everyone who supported our Giving Tuesday Challenge,” said Associate Vice President of Advancement Kim Vickers. “The exciting news is that we achieved our goal of raising $100,000” during the challenge.
Giving Tuesday, now in its seventh year, takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving each year and encourages people to support their favorite charities during the holiday season.
