I’m pleased today to be writing to you in the inaugural New College News, a weekly e-newsletter and web site that will provide campus news and information to New College faculty, staff, and students. Every Monday morning, you’ll receive this email, which will display the latest campus news, upcoming events, public notices and more. Rather than trying to describe it all, I encourage you to explore the web site.
New College News is intended to improve on-campus communication while reducing the amount of email that all of us receive. It will also provide — in a more timely manner — the information that I had previously included in my monthly President’s Reports. Moving forward, please submit the information that you previously sent for the President’s Report to New College News by completing the submission form. The link to this form will always be found on the bottom of every New College News web page.
The information you need to convey – publicizing a lecture, announcing a new hire, or just finding a new home for a bookcase – won’t be overlooked in our endless torrent of email.
Our Communications team will moderate the staff email list and vet information that would be more appropriate for the newsletter than an email blast. We’ll continue to refine the process and the newsletter itself in the weeks to come. I hope you find it useful.
