There have been no reported cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) on our campus.
I know that many students are eager to come back to campus to retrieve their belongings from the residence halls. Student Affairs staff has begun to implement protocols and a schedule to enable students and families to return to campus safely.
Finishing courses and preparing for baccalaureate exams in a virtual environment adds an additional layer of stress to a time that was already stressful for students. Those who believe that they cannot finish their baccalaureate exams by May 8 and turn in their theses by May 11 should contact their thesis sponsors. With pre-approval from the sponsor and baccalaureate committee, students who complete all graduation requirements by the end of the day on Tues. May 26 will be included in the May 15, 2020 graduating class.
We are planning an in-person postponed commencement on Sat. December 5. It will be a sunset ceremony, and I’m very much hoping that as many graduates as possible will be able to get back for it.
Please continue to take all of the necessary precautions to protect yourself and members of your household from contracting or spreading the coronavirus.
Best,
Don O’Shea
