Metz Culinary Management, the private food service corporation that manages New College’s dining experience, has pledged to commit more than $53,000 to the College.

“New College is a great partner, and we want to continue to foster our relationship and provide excellent customer service to students, faculty and staff,” said Jeff Metz, the president and CEO of Metz. “Our commitment to New College builds upon our well-established seven-year partnership and our future plans to enhance and continually improve upon our services and offerings. Our founder, John C. Metz, has made his home in Sarasota, and Metz Culinary Management plans to be at New College for generations to come.”

New College officials welcomed the news.

“We are in the midst of developing improved meal plan offerings for Fall 2021, including an Unlimited Access option,” said Chris Kinsley, the vice president for finance and administration at New College. “We hope to reopen the Four Winds Café next year as well, and these funds couldn’t have come at a better time.”

Kinsley added that he hopes to have revised meal plan prices and a meal plan scholarship program set for approval by the New College Board of Trustees on June 5.

“The Metz commitment of over $53,000 speaks volumes regarding the strength of the partnership,” said New College President Donal O’Shea. “The revised meal plan program is a great sign that New College is looking past the pandemic to a strong future ahead.”
